Beautiful pics of Tamara Day and Sarah Stiles feet & legs
One child was strapped onto my back while another crawled around in the playpen. I stayed up all night days, for months, sanding and removing wallpaper, and with just one child. Ha! All was beginning to fall into place, but it was not quite done. The home would require lots of time and a love to shop. To stay on budget I began going to estate sales with my three sons to find diamonds in the rough. Our routine for the week consisted of walking from Thursday to Saturday through estate sales and garage sales, buying vintage and modern pieces, while I spent on weekdays painting and sanding the driveway. My first impression was like... this is the moment my love for restoring furniture was born. I continued to work on furniture long after we decorated our house. In the market in town I was able to rent a tiny space and sold some pieces. There were lots of pieces, I didn't know what to do and my storage space was a mess. In my own home, I started hosting open houses, where over 1000 people could come in and buy any item they liked on the 1st floor over the course of a weekend. It was here that my business Growing Days was born. My business was not only thriving but I was growing our sweet family as well. In some ways, I had found the perfect equilibrium between motherhood and starting my new venture. Growing Days fit perfectly. Nora my 4th child was born in 2013. The direction of my business was fantastic, but I had to take some time off. I decided to put off doing work on my furniture and be at home with the kids. It was exactly what I needed at that time. It was only after several months that my phone began to call. A lot of people contacted me for help on home improvement and decorating. The majority of them came into my residence at my open house for furniture. In the following months, I began to take on new clients at my own speed. Soon I had multiple customers and was operating an enterprise of renovations to homes. If you'd told me that my company would become an idea for the DIY Network show, I likely would have thought you were crazy. In fact, I laugh a little when I remember the story.
