Laura Linney has been hailed as one of America's most well-known actors. Her fame is for playing strong characters that are equally at risk. In the summer, while working with her father's business Laura Linney fell in love with theatre. Then in her time at Brown University she studied acting as well as at Juilliard School, after which the career of her choice took off. After just two short months after graduating she began her Broadway-based career. The following year she made her debut on film and television. Since then, she's been in numerous films as well as TV and stage productions. In her long professional career, she's received several awards. Some of them include two Golden Globe Awards and four Primetime Emmy Awards as well as three Academy Award nominations and five Tony Award nominations. The actress has received nominations for five Tony Awards and three Oscar Awards nominations. In spite of all the distinctions and awards, theatre is still her passion and she is determined to act on both screen and stage.
